The First Aid Code of practice recommends a minimum ratio of first aiders to workers in each business. For low risk workplaces: 1 in 50. For high risk workplaces: 1 in 25. For Remote high risk workplaces: 1 in 10

For many workplaces though, just having that minimum ratio isn’t enough. Factors like sick leave, different shifts, working alone and how many members of the public are onsite mean usually more need to be trained.
