Wollongong First Aid Courses

HTLAID011 PROVIDE FIRST AID
This is a day-long first aid course that certified First Aiders must complete every three years. It’s got everything you need to know to deal with life-threatening emergencies such as cardiac arrest, heart attack, trauma incidents, drowning, choking and snake bites. Plus it teaches you how to assist people with everyday injuries like burns, fractures and sprains.
Cost: $130
Duration: 7 Hours (Inc breaks)

HTLAID009 Provide CPR
This CPR refresher course is a 12-month requirement for maintaining a valid First Aid Certification. It’s absolutely essential to help keep your skills and knowledge current. In this class, you will refresh your knowledge of adult and infant CPR, use a defibrillator, the DRSABCD Action Plan and recovery rolls. The class will also discuss choking, drowning and more!
Cost: $65
Duration: 3 Hours (inc breaks)

If you work in an electrical industry and might one day find yourself in a situation that requires rescuing someone who’s been electrocuted, It’s likely you’ll be required to take: UETDRRF004—Perform rescue from a live LV Panel.

What course is right for you?
To be a qualified first-aider, you need to take HTLAID011 Provide First aid every three years. Every year in between, you’re required to refresh your CPR knowledge by taking the course HTLAID009 Provide CPR.
If you are in the childcare or education sectors, it’s likely required that you complete this course: HTLAID012 Provide First Aid in a Childcare and Education Setting.
Workers in electrical industries may be required to undertake a training course that teaches the basics of performing rescue from a live LV Panel. UETDRRF004—Perform rescue from a live LV Panel.
What Course

To be a qualified workplace first aider you need to complete HTLAID011 Provide First Aid every three years. Every 12 months in between you are required to refresh your knowledge by undertaking HTLAID009 Provide CPR. Those in childcare or education may need to complete HTLAID012 Provide First Aid in a Childcare and Education Setting. Those in electrical industries may be required to undertake UETDRRF004 Perform rescue from a live LV Panel.

Why have we chosen not to make our courses online-only? Because First Aid training means more than just getting a piece of paper, we want to help you learning real-life skills that can help you save lives. That sort of training can’t be accomplished behind a computer screen.

Preparing for Your Course
What Course Do I Need?: In order to be a certified first aider you will need to take HTLAID011 Provide First Aid Every Three Years. To stay on top of your game, you must seek to refresh your knowledge of first aid every three years and refresh your CPR skills every year. Our courses page also discusses other courses that might be needed if you are in the electrical or childcare and education sectors.
Entry Requirements: You have to be at least 14 years old to join a course.
To pass this course you will need to have the physical endurance required to perform CPR for at least 2 minutes on the floor. You might want to bring a pillow to cushion your knees while you do this.
Reminder
Don’t forget that this course has discussions of physical injuries and emergency situations, such as major blood loss.

Online Pre Course Work
To maximize your learning experience from our online public courses, you will have to complete some online video lessons before the day starts. You’ll also need to complete an online assessment. As soon as you book online, you will receive a link to access your pre course work. And by the time those courses start, you will be an expert on first aid essentials and ready to ace the day!
