What Course Do I Need?
So you want to be a qualified first aider for your workplace?*
Here’s the courses you may need to consider:
HLTAID011 Provide First Aid. This course generally lasts a full day. It covers common emergency situations such as an asthma attack, diabetic episode, stroke, and more. It also shows how to give CPR and use a defibrillator. To be a qualified first aider, you’ll need to complete this every 36 months. This course also includes HTLAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Learn how to give CPR, use a defibrillator and follow the DRSABCD action plan in this course that generally lasts 3 hours. To meet workplace requirements you should update this course every 12 months.

HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting
This is a full first aid course, but is designed to help people who work with young children. This course is popular with teachers and childcare workers.
Course Set – HLTAID009 & UETDRRF004 (CPR/ LVR) This course is often taken by electricians and other industries in which there is a significant risk of electrical shock.
